Identification of 3 unknown FJ KC winners

    Hey friends,

in my digital archive I found three old jpeg´s of unknown FJ KC winners...

Perhaps someone knows one or two names and units ? Would be interesting ...

One is a early one but the face is not really visible ...

Two seem to be very late war kc winners ...

    Regards!

I'd say he is Horst Kerfin and not Walter Koch.
The guy in question is an Oberleutnant, while Koch was allready Hauptmann when awarded his KC and five days later promoted to Major. Beside that the medals and medal bar fit to those of Kerfin.
On photo there are also Herman Göring(left) and Dietrich von Choltitz(right).
Both Kerfin and Choltitz were involved in assault on Rotterdam on May 1940.

        No, it's not Horst Kerfin!
        he was a parachute infantryman.
And logically he also wore the badge

Sorry, but what does that mean - Kerfin was parachute infantryman ?
Both Kerfin and Koch were Luftwaffe Fallschirmjäger and both were transfered to Luftwaffe in 1935 from Infanterie(Kerfin) or Polizei(Koch).
Does that make Koch parachute policeman? Beside that Kerffin served until his death in Fallschirm-Jäger-Regiment 1!
When I saw this photo at first I too thought that in the middle is Koch but the rank(Oberleutnant), medal bar(identical to Kerfins) and other two present (HG and Choltitz) made me doubtful.
Please read input on Kerfin in 'Die Ritterkreuzträger der Deutschen Wehrmacht 1939-1945, Teil II: Fallschirmjäger' by F.Thomas and G.Wegmann describing Kerfins involvment in fighting in Rotterdam together with Inf.Regiment 16 under Choltitz.
At that time Koch was even not near Rotterdam, but he was fighting for Belgian fortress Eben-Emael near Maastricht(NL).

            It is not Kerfin.

As Uncle Kurt mention - Kerfin was member of the Fallschirm Infanterie Bataillon - and used to wear the Army Para Badge ...

Also he does really not look like Kerfin ...

Thank you for posting this two photos so you can see it is Kerfin after all.
As I have allready pointed out everything fits - men(Göring, Kefin and Choltitz), rank, medals and medal bar. For the last three the proof is in photos you posted.
You have klinged just on one thing that from this not sharp photo is hard to say what it is - Para Badge, is it LW or Army. You see it as LW and I see it as Army Para Badge.
I have checked a few photos with parachutes and it is often hard to say what Para Badge they have unless the photo is absolutely sharp and clear.
And to say 'Also he does really not look like Kerfin ...' from that photo, that is really strong statement as the only thing you can say from that photo is that he definitely is not Koch. For that you don't even need to see his face becouse nothing fits.
Until now I haven't heard from you nothing that can convince me to say that he is not Kerfin, but I would like to.

Up ... Can someone identify the other two "late" KC winners?

                  Regards

It might be at the 1/6/1940 RK award ceremony around the city of Den-Haag.
