I was interested to learn that S is for Sonneberg, but what is BULAG for ? Perhaps something to do with Bekleidungsamt ?

BUL AG is the manufacturer , often seen . BUL Aktien Gesellschaft .

From a bit more searching, and for complete full reference to assist future searches, BULAG apparently stands for Bayerische Uniformlieferungs AG , of Auerbach , which was a business that apparently started in around 1934 and continued operating until the 1980's. Phew !

                      Nice tunic Arnad!

However, if you are planning to place it under a smock for a mannequin, that would not be appropriate. A Fliegerbluse is what is needed.

Nice for display with a nice prewar belt/buckle set would look great!

Thanks Willi, yes good point - I was thinking that really, but it may just have to be what comes to hand I guess later in the war when things were desperate they wore whatever was left ...

Here is a better picture of the helmet

Well Arnad, while anything is possible, the reality is that these pre-war tunics are found in great condition because they were left hanging in the closet at home. Pretty uncomfortable under a smock.

That is why we have the early FJ unit marked tunics in collections in pretty nice condition.

                            Nice helmet!

You're quite right Willi - I'm just trying to avoid spending more money I knew it wouldn't work for long - this FJ hobby is just too addictive
