    New research from Soldbuch, DKiG A.R. 14

    I want to present you Mr Hans Lehmann, born in Grossdeuben (Leipzig) on November 18th, 1.914. He was protestant and his occupation was Intern.

    He entered the Wehrmacht on October 15th, 1.936 serving with 2./A.R. 50 as radioman, rider, fire director and gun chief.

    His officers must seen something and he was taken to 1 R.O.A. Lehrgang Lehrstab A Artillerie Schule Jüterbog from August 18th till October 17th, 1.938. He must be promoted prior war as he served with the same unit as Batterie Officer from September 1st, 1.939 till May 17th, 1.940.
    - Soldbuch open on August 1st, 1.939 by 2(s) A.R. 50 with number 38 and Dog tag also numbered 38 2./A.R. 50 with the rank of Leutnant.
    - Leave on January 13th from January 14th till January 28th to Grossdeuben for Heimaturlaub by A.R. 50
    - Leave on July 14th from July 20th till August 10th to Grossdeuben as Erholungsurlaub by A.R. 50

    With this unit he fought attached to 14 I.D. in France and on October 15th, 1.940 the I Abteilung was renamed III./A.R. 14 as the sea time he was motorized so the new and correct name is III./A.R. (mot) 14.

    For his service there he received the next two medals, both approved by the 14 I.D. and stamped with Fp number 21137 C for the 2./A.R. 50
    - Iron Cross 2nd class on May28th, 1.940
    - Iron Cross 1st class on November 13th, 1.940

    With his new unit he was in the Homeland till Hitler moved East where he served for the duration of the war with Heeresgruppe Mitte till February 1.945 when he was shifted to Nord and ending the war in East Prussia.

    His service was, chronologically:
    - From May 18th, 1.940 till February 28th, 1.941 with 2./A.R. 50 and, after the new designation, with 7./s.A.R. (mot) 14 as B. Officer and V.B (Observer and Forward Observer)
    - From March 1st, 1.941 till December 8th, 1.941 with III./(s) A.R. (mot) 14 as A.V.Ko. Artillerie-Verbindungs-Kommando (Artillery-Connection Command)
    - From December 9th, 1941 till February 19th, 1.942 with III./(s) A.R. (mot) 14 as Abteilung Adjutant
    - Awarded the General Assault Badge on January 9th, 1942 by 14 I.D. Stamped Fp 21137
    - Promoted to Oberleutnant on February 1st, 1.941 by 7(s)/A.R.(mot) 14 confirmed the same day
    - From February 20th 1.942 till November 30th, 1.942 with 7./(s) A.R. (mot) 14 as Batterie Chef
    - Awarded the Ostmedaille on July 15th, 1.942 by A.R. (mot) 14. Stamped III Abt. A.R. 14.
    - Leave on July 24th no dates written, just Freifahrt 28/ to Grossdeuben for Heimaturlaub, unit illegible, but he received a Führerpacket
    - Purchase a gun, Walther PP s/n 779492 on October 28th, 1942
    - Leave on November 30th from December 1st till December 22nd to Grossdeuben and Munich as Erholungsurlaub by Art.Ers.Abt. 50
    - Leave on December 20th from December 22nd, 1.942 till March 31st, 1.943 to Dresden as Studienurlaub by Wehrmacht Kommandantur Desden
    - Awarded the German Cross in Gold on December 21st, 1942 by H.Qu.O.K.H.. Stamped Wehrmacht Kommandantur Dresden.
    - Security check on April 1st, 1.943, stamp illegible, Kr.Str.Nr. 134 in Chemnitz
    - From June 1st, 1.943 till June 18th, 1.944 with A.R. (mot) 14 as Regiment Adjutant
    - Promoted to Hauptmann on June 1st, 1.943 by Stab/A.R. (mot) 14 confirmed on July 10th.
    - Leave on August 13th, 1.943 from August 14th till (no date) to Dresden as Sonderurlaub by Fp 35816
    - Security check on December 1st, 1.943 by Stabsbatterie A.R. 14 with Kr.Str.Nr. 47
    - Purchase a gun, Walther PPK s/n 372032 on March 12th, 1.944
    - Leave on March 13th, 1.944 from till (no dates) to Frunbau as Erholungsurlaub by A.R. 14
    - Awarded the Close Combat Clasp in bronze on June 7th, 1.944 by A.R. (mot) 14 bet Tagesbef. Nr. 25 dated the same day. Stamped A.R. 14.
    - From June 26th, 1.944 till July 31st, 1.944 in Lehrgang fur Abteilung Führer in Artillerie Schule II in Gross Born
    - Leave on July 5th, 1944 from July 7 till July 10th to Lenna as Sonderurlaub by Artillerie Schule II
    - From August 6th, 1.944 till September 10th, 1.944 Lehrgang an der Panzertruppen Schule Bergen
    - Security check on September 1st, 1.944 by A.R. 14 with Kr.Str.Nr. 49
    - From September 21st, 1.944 till the end with III./A.R. 14 as Abteilung Kommandeur.
    - Wounded on March 22th, 1.945 by shrapnel on his left leg.
    - He was interned in Reserve Lazarett II Karlsbad from April 5th, 1945 till April 9th, 1.945 when he was discharged wafter cleaning the wound and leaving the shrapnel in place and requesting three months of convalescence and a leave of 14 days plus 2 days for travel.
    - Leave on April 9th, 1945 from April 10th till April 25th (14 days plus 2 for travel) to Altenburg as Genesungsurlaub by Reserve Lazarett Karlsbad.
    - Presented himself volunteer on April 15th, 1945 as volunteer to Panzerjägdgruppe VII (mot) (Schütte-Felsche) Apparently a late war unit commanded by Hauptmann Joachim Schütte-Felsche who received the DKiG on January 45 as Kommandeur Flaksturm Rgt/Abt I./53 subordinated to Flak Sturm Regiment 4.

    Researching this Soldbuch I find three DKiG winners from A.R. 14 who signed entries on this booklet:
    - Page 8 in both guns purchases:
    October 28th, 1.942 Bernhard Braun, DKiG on October 23rd, 1.942 while serving with 8(s)/A.R. (mot) 14
    March 12th, 1.944 Hans Ollendorf, DKiG on March 18th, 1.943 while serving with 3./A.R. (mot) 14
    - Page 22 awarding the General Assault Badge
    January 9th, 1.942 Kurt Münch DKiG on February 28th, 1.942 while serving with III./A.R. (mot) 14
    Also you can find signatures to two Regimental Commanders:
    - Page 20 Führergeschenken, 22a award of the Nahkampfspange, 24 7th leave signed by Oberstleutnant Breittenstein
    - Page 3 promotion to Hauptmann, page 15 controls 2 and 3 and page 24 6th leave signed by Oberstleutnant/Oberst Walter Kiersch.

      the extra paper answered my questions that why you can know very detailed of his career, because you can't know it from a single SB unless you have WP.
