Hi Folks:
I rec'd this wehrpass as a gift from a man I know. It was his Father-in-Law's who served in the medical field from 1939-1944 but actually served until the end of the war ….surviving the war.
This is the 2nd Writing ….since his 1st was lost.
He was on the Western front (Westwall)....thru the May 1940 France invasion (Luxembourg/Verdun, etc..) serving in France & Belgium on the coast and Channel. He then served in the Russia campaign from 1941-1944. It appears that he was wounded. He was an "older" man 36 yrs old when the war started....he must have been a "Father figure" to many.
Was awarded the Ost Medal 1941-42 and KVKII w/Swds…
He served in the 552nd Sanitate Kompany and 617th San Komp (mot).
Since this was the 2nd schrift (writing)….many of the enteries are readable and the remaining typed and glued in a separated folded list.
I was very surprised when he told me that I could have it.
