KIA Battle of the Bulge Flak soldbuch

    Hi,

My only soldbuch... I hope for the moment

A solbuch in very good condition to obergefreiter Karl Heinz Nehring.

He participed to the mains operations of german army : invasion of France, fight in East , AA protection in France between march or April 43 and summer 44 : fighting in Normandy with Flak Sturm Regt. 3 (III. Flakkorps), and fighting in Ardennes offensive with AA protection of Kampfgruppe Peiper. The man died on 20 december of 44, probably in Cheneux in heavy ground fights against troops of 504th US Airborne Regiment.

He received a tarnnetz and a tarnjacke.

He is buried in the cemetery of Bad Münstereifel.
    Regard's,
    Jonathan

A neat Soldbuch with a very interesting historical, but sad personal background! Another young life wasted for an operation that never stood a chance to be successful.

Flaksturm-Regiment 84 was indeed part of KG Peiper and saw some heavy action in the area of Stavelot/La Gleize.

Got the Soldbuch of a soldier of the same unit who was awarded the EK2 in the Ardennes, might post it sometime soon.

      Thanks for sharing!

      Matthias
