Strange stamp entry in a SB - any help/explanation ?

    Hello !

This is a strange kind of stamp, that I have never seen before in a Soldbuch :
Has anyone an explantion for the code number used in this stamp :
    Absendende Dienststelle : 135103 i
    (dispatching office : 135103 i)

I have never seen anything like this and would be interested in an explanation !

The Soldbuch itself belongs to a soldier of a 3rd wave Infantry division :
    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=986501

It somehow reminds me of a Mob-Nr., but I couldn't find it in a list.
In addition, I think these were only used by the Luftwaffe ?!
So, what kind of number could it be ?

Thanks for any help and best regards,

I cannot find any reference so far. But i think the number has to do with the location of the office that called him up and send him to his army unit.
Keep in mind that it was a Landwehr unit, those soldiers did not need basic training and could be send to an army unit straight away. Bypassing Ersatz units.

First 2 numbers are for the Wehrkreis (13), the second pair of numbers might be for the Wehrersatzbezirk. There are 3 in Nürnberg (Nürnberg, Regensburg and Eger) and the last pair of numbers for the actual office within the Wehrersatzbezirk?

This is just a theory that came to my mind.
But i cannot find a list of numbered Wehrersatzbezirk's. Just their (city) names.
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

      Hello Rick !

Many thanks for your contribution !

      This is an interesting theory.
I need some more time to look into the data and how those various Wehrersatz-units are linked to each other.
(From your answer, I understand that this kind of stamp is also new to you ?!)

I could also find no numbers for the Wehrbezirkskommandos.

Is it possible, that with the 3 commands in WK XIII you refer to the Wehr-Ersatz-Inspektionen ?
In 1939, there were 3 WEI : in Nürnberg, Regensburg and Karlsbad (with a subbranch in Eger)

You are absolutely correct, that he was immediately drafted. I have also his Truppenausweis, which shows,
that he had some pre war training courses.

      Thanks again and best regards,

I am sure I have an example of that stamp somewhere.....but where?

I have been trying to put some info together regarding Wehrkreise etc. and to see if I could match anything from what has been said....so far not much.

FP Nr. 31238 belonged to Stab I Abteilung, Artillerie-Regiment 231, formed 26.8.1939 in Schwandorf, Weiden und Nabburg, all towns in Wehrkreis XIII.

Wehrkreise were always changing.....here are examples of that and officers from 1939. As you can see in 1936/37 Nürnberg was in Wehrkreis VII. Also WEI and WBK were closed, amalgamated etc.

        I will continue looking........

        /Ian

            Hello Ian !

Many thanks for your participation in this puzzle and for sharing those interesting documents .
I have never seen those with the Einteilung of the Wehrbezirke etc.
May I ask from which kind of book or documentation they are ?!

If you could find another example of this stamp (or remember what kind of unit it was) that would great of course !

Regarding the theory from Rick, I really tried to make it work.
I have compiled so far a list of 21 Wehrbezirkskommandos and 52 Wehrmeldeämter for WK XIII.
So, if the first 2 digits would be for WK 13, the next 2 could be for the Wehrmeldeamt.
But : From 135103 i what for should be the last two digits 03 (and the i) ?

There are a few things, I would like to mention, regarding this stamp :
            a) As Angel had pointed out in the other thread, it looks like the stamp is used as a replacement or instead
            of a Dienstsiegel.
(I'll post the full SB page below).
            b) I am also not sure how to read the stamp :
            - Should it be : This soldier was sent from Dienstselle 135103 i => to FPN 31238 (I./Art.Rgt. 231) ?!
            - Or is it, that both numbers refer to the same unit : 135103 i = FPN 31238 ?!
And that this unit would send him somewhere ?

The idea behind the second case :
Mobilization of the former Landwehr-Divisions was organized by the Landwehrkommandeure, which might not be
            part of the Feldheer.
After the mobilization process was completed, the whole unit could then be transferred to the field army.
            http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...ivision3-R.htm

I'll try to post SB scans of all pages and some other documents in the other thread as soon as possible.

Thanks again to Rick and Ian for their help !

            Best regards,

The info came from "Heeresverwaltungs-Taschenbuch (H.V.T.)" years as stated.
