    How Do You Display Your SB/WP?

    Quiet Sunday here, so thought I would share a few display photos from my collection.

    I am wondering how other display or store they ID's and documents. For years I had mine stored in Mylar sleeves in binders, but eventually this left me cold. Recently I have switched over to Riker cases to display.

    Here is a small sample from my Bulge-related items showing a SB, WP, and document group.

    Very nice display. I a particularly like the info cards I assume you made up. Very nice period look to them.

      REALLY sharp displays and the informational cards are phenomenal. I would expect to see displays like these in museums. Well done!

      One question; Is the glass in those cases UV protected so the documents don't fade from being exposed in the light, or are they just stored in non-lighted environments?

        Thank you.

        The cards are made from card stock sheets. I type the descriptions on the computer, print, and cut down by hand.

          Thanks for the compliment!

          I don't believe Rikers offer any UV protection. I have these stored away from any direct sunlight though. My KC material I have framed and behind "Museum" glass which does offer UV protection.

          Here is a Bulge-related KC group which I've framed.

            Very nice displays ! Personally, I am afraid of fire or bruglary, so I keep my documents in special suitcases... Not the ideal to take advantage of it !

            Can you easily open your frames ?

                      if you see how the status of the collection is, you will find how nice your display is, and how i envious ! Shanghai is a bit moisture, so i can't make them onto the wall, in the leisure time, i only appreciate their scans.
                      for documents the condition is ok, but i can't find bit album to display the formal DkiG document, they are keeping different from the grouping....
                      again, nice display, and nice RK grouping !

                        and also direct light .... I also keep them protected from light in envelopes for philatelic material .... the soldbuch/wehrpass on their behalf, the related certificates in a binder (all identified in the transparent envelope by the plate of the respective lot) and the larger documents in another file always according to the same logic .....

                              Nice displays, guys. Mine are in binders too.

                              John - do you worry about damaging documents in the riker cases? I have seen cases where the ink from the documents has actually stained the glass, causing me concern about long term damage to my documents. I love the idea of displaying these - I have some medal groups displayed - but I wonder if they will be damaged or disintegrate in the long run.
