    Soldbuch/Einsatzbuch K.M.A.Venedig 1943-1945

I only ever owned one Einsatzbuch and this is it, for a Chemiker based in the Kriegsmarine Arsenal in Venedig(Venice) together with 2 nice ausweis, in February 1945 he received new equipment including an Italian Rifle and 30 6.5 ammunition, I believe that is a Carcano that he received as it used 6.5 x 52mm rounds.

The photo which is Taken near St.Mark s square is very nice, what intrigues me is the fact that he s wearing a uniform and hat but he s clearly wearing a EK1 and minesweeper s badge.....He served with the KM and then worked for the KM in Venice??? These are all the pages with entries, the rests of the pages are blank. I Hope you like it as much as I do

Nice Einsatzbuch. I think the Kriegsmarine used them the most. Love the extra Ausweis. Thanks for showing this one!

Very interesting documents and a fantastic photo in the Einsatzbuch.

This is not the kind of photo you expect to see on an offcial document, very unusual and intriguing

                    odd

The photo really does not seem to make sense. His face is described as oval and he wore glasses. Neither of these details fit the photo. The Dienststelle Feldpostnummer stamp is seen 3 times, twice on the photo and once on page 2 with the number blacked out. Somehow I just don't think it is the Chemiker. But know knows?

The photo is not a face picture indeed but it happens that pictures of the upper body are show in these books so I don't see any issues, also because the two stamps on the photo are the same as the stamp on page two. I wonder why his EK1 and Minensuch are not written down nor is the lower part of page one, but remember this is an Einsatzbuch and not a Soldbuch. Overal a very nice set of paperwork IMHO!

Daniele a nice and intriguing pick up. Would second the earlier comments that the pic is pretty unique for a Soldbuch photo.

Pauke, good questions. Not certain why the awards would not have been entered either. There are totally original examples though of other Soldbuchs missing award entries. It does look like there are also 2 different ink rings on the photo stampings. Perhaps the photo had been previously used?
