Would I be right in saying that it translates to : Auxillary driving column squadron ? and its part of infantry reg 240

Hi Paul,

Close- it's actually: 5th Squadron, Auxiliary Transport (horse-drawn) Column 240; I'm not 100% sure of the parent unit, but I'd think it could have been the 170. Infanterie-Division (the Divisional units of which were numbered '240'). You might be able to check this by cross-referencing the places the soldier whose Wehrpaß you have was with where the Division was at the same time: http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...onen/170ID.htm
