        I am not 100% sure but it seems as if the Hauptmann spoke also hebrew beside latin, greek and english. Just a small side note i found interesting.

              agree ! it is the Wehrmacht way to training their officers : a tank/stug commander must know and know how to do each role of his crews (gunner driver, transmissions)

                the same the scenery (the bare trees, the road, the landscape) of the the two with the same date of the Stug bogged down, but it just looks like another Stug and more damaged .... but there is a particular detail in the picture .... the 201 .... 2nd Company, the Stug of the commander!!!!!!

                          thanks to the information of Daniele Guglielmi I received some other photos of the American recovery of the two Stugs of 242 abandoned from the 242 Sturm.Gesch.Abteilung 242 the 7/8 January 1944 in San Vittore del Lazio (ie in front of Monte Porchia / Colle Cedro as indicated in our research )....
