Hello !

This is a very small type of unit, with the task to prepare and provide the meat and sausages for a division.
It consisted of :
- Gruppe Führer (~HQ group) and 2 butcher groups and 1 sausage group.
(I assume, nowadays a 4th veggie group would be added as well ).
Total strength would be ~: 2 Offc./ 1 official / 9 NCO / 58 EM

This unit (together with the Bakery co.) would be attached to the DVA (Divisions-Verpflegungsamt),
which had the task to administer the food supply to the various subunits of a division.

As Simon mentioned, the number 23 should point to 23. Inf.Div.
