Wehrpaß 136th Jager.... questions

I picked this up without research and am trying to decipher the script and learn the man's fate. Happy to post more pics if needed but in the interest of space just posting enlistment details and pages I don't understand. Your help greatly appreciated! Here is what I have so far, and feel free of course to correct any errors!

not enough fotos. on 6.May 1942 he died or stopped his service and back to homeland, because his promotion to oberleutnant is in 1943. if posthoumsly, that is too late.

During May 1942 the division lost 5 officers KIA, 27 WIA and 2 MIA, of the two MIA one was an ordnance officer and as your man was at battalion level i think there's a good chance it's him.

Sorry no, German only. I had a look through the KTB of the 2 Geb.div. and gebirgskorps Norwegen, i'll look through 'winterschlacht im Mai' when i get home which deals with the soviet offensive of April/May 42 against the Litsa front.

I found him, he was killed in action 5th may 42 in an arctic snow storm whilst fighting against the Soviet 12th Marine Brigade, the confusion lies in that his name has been spelled differently several places. In the divisional history of the 2 Geb.Div. "Es war ein Edelweiss" he is named Bereiter and battalion adjutant, whilst on the Volksbund database he is named Bereitter.
