1) Proposition for the award of the Panzer Assault Badge in Bronze dated 11.9.1941 whilst serving with 1/Schützen Regiment 66 listing three combat days. Awarded 14.2.1942.

2) Proposition for the award of the Close Combat Bar in Bronze dated 8.3.1943 whilst serving with 1/Panzer Grenadier Regiment 66 listing 15 months participation in the Russ<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:PersonName>ian</st1:PersonName> campaign, also listing 15 combat days. Awarded 28.6.1943.<O</O

3) Promotion to 2nd Lieutenant dated 29.6.1944 whilst on a Training Course at the School for Officer Candidates for the Armoured Troops.<O</O

4) Personal data sheet recording next of kin details, service history including units, promotions, theatres of war and awards. Has photo of holder in Heer Oberfähnrich uniform.

My good friend Ian kindly sold me the pieces he had from Schumann and now all rest in my collection, we started with his proposal of award of the Panzerkampfabzeichen in bronze, as youcan see two of the counting actions took place in France, the other in Russia, a long time take burocracy to fullfill all documents to award him his well won medal.

He also was proposed for the Nahkampfspange and despite he was in combat since the beggining of the Russian campaign the clerk also detailed his first 156 combat days in the back of the document (a 16 day was started to be written, but then erased, hard to see without power lens and the document in hand)
