got a quick look at a 1944 zweitschrift of a 20-year old gunner / loader (pic in his rad tunic) and am very curious --
1) no '11 days' battle' insert or apparently other locations of ops. mentioned
2) transferred to heavy pz. from 2 previous units maybe 202 and 208 ?
3) among other weapons he qualified on was '8,8' which makes sense for a gunner
4) seller noted from his research the cdr. of one of the soldier's units got the DKiG
5) the 'pass holder got the usual EK2 and pz. assault badge, BUT!
6) most important: tho reading Handschrift is a major chore, I'm almost sure paging thru I saw 'Ritter....' not mentioned by the seller, and not next to an admin. officer's Stempel (the 'pass has several) so unlikely t/b nobility -- such as Ritter von greim
7) I stupidly didnt get the holder's name since time was a factor and I was troubled by the lack of battle info. and worried about fake PZ. docs. BUT in looking up the 509th I saw a man named litzke was a RK awardee in that unit so now I'm getting excited, esp. since the surname I briefly saw could very well be that.
