Josef Hage volunteer in the Reischswher in 1930 in the Infanterie Rgt. 19 part of the 7. Infanterie Divison from Munich ....

Josef's long career above all as an instructor:

from 1930 to 1934 precisely in the Infanterie Rgt. 19 in Monaco

in 1934 in the Infanterie Schule of Dresden then immediately after 1936 at the Kriegschule in Munich

from 1936 to 1939 Infanterie Rgt. 19 and the last months at Infanterie-Regiment 61 always in Munich

From September 1939 to January 1942 with Infanterie-Regiment 468 of the 268. Infanterie-Division in France and Russia

From June 1942 to October 1943 in the Uffz schools IV and VII (almost certainly as instructor)

from october 1943 to febbruary 1944, still instructor in the Infanterie-Geschütz-Ersatz-Kompanie 407 of Ingolstad.

Finally on 11 February 1944 Josef arrives in Italy, on the front of Anzio Nettuno assigned to the Grenadier Regiment 954 of the 362 ID, 13th Company (IG = Inf.Gesh)

Josef as in his wehrpass (13th Company as an instructor in Infanterie-Geschütz-Ersatz-Kompanie 407 and also in Italy with the 954 Reg. in Italy) was a specialist of the 7,5-cm-leichtes Infanteriegeschütz 18 ......

And finally the epilogue, less 20 days after his arrival in Italy, the Stabfeldwebel Josef Hage is seriously injured on 1 March 1943, during the German counterattack, almost certainly around Carano where his 734 Regigmemento was in line ....
