Dear all,
I would like to show a Luftwaffe driver Soldbuch and Wehrpass group to Obergefreiter Alois Zitterbart, who came from the Sudetenland.
The group consists of the two books, together with his military driving licence, a Sterbebild for his brother who was killed during the Battle for France in June 1940, together with around a dozen photos from his service time. The group also came with two, what look like, religious icons.
Alois initially trained as a member of Schwere Flak Ers Abt 3 at the beginning of 1942, before training to become a military driver during the Spring of 1942.
On 10th May 1942, Alois joined the Transport Kolonne Luftwaffe (Mot) 1/III, which was based on the Eastern Front. He served in this unit until 31st May 1943.
Alois then joined his final unit, Transport Kolonne (Mot) Luftwaffe 105/XVII on 1st June 1943. He was based at Bitola in Macedonia with this unit until the end of the War.
Not the most glamorous, or interesting group, but interesting still the same. If anyone sees anything in this paperwork that I have missed, please let me know.
Regards and thanks,
Andy
