    H. ST. O. VERW. MIES ID Tag

    I picked this up over the weekend at a local show. To most collectors it's not that interesting. It's for the garrison Hqs at Mies in the Sudatenland. I collect these because many of these positions were filled by women specifically Stabshelferinnen. Unfortunately there's no way to determine the gender of the bearer from the tag. Jim

      Thank you. I think it was a small garrison. I believe an infantry regiment. I'm still researching it. Once I get some more info I will post it. Jim

        Wehrbezirks-Kommando (WK XIII, Wehrersatzbezirk Eger. Zuständig für die Wehrmeldebezirke (Wehrmeldeämter) Mies und Tachau.)

        Wehrmeldeamt (WK XIII, Wehrbezirk Mies. Zuständig für die Landkreise Mies und Bischofteinitz.)

          Thank you. So only one Infantry Bn and lots of HQ and admin offices. Im guessing the Sanitats Staffel is a clinic. The 172 was part of the 75 ID which saw a lot of action.

            Hello !

            I think, the disk was issued to a member of :
            Heeres-Standortverwaltung Mies

            I am not exactly sure, but after some research, I think the general tasks of such a Standortverwaltung
            were the administration and maintenance of all miltary facilties and installations in that area
            (see scan, for the area of Jüterbog).
