    Wehrpass 23.Pzdiv.

    Hello all..

There is the wehrpass with the battle entries.
Please help me with your opinions.
I think the wp is good. I hesitate about the additional entries abou the battles.
This is good or simple joke for the increase the price?
Here is the photos from the doc
    Thanks

I have seen the same entries in other 23 Panzer Division Wehrpasses.

        Angel
Looking for DKiG Heer winner Soldbuch who also won the TDB and/or CCC, specially in Silver.

I can only talk for the page regarding his service with 23 Panzer Division and I have checked my archives and see two other Wehrpass with the same entries and the same type of paper so, in my opinion, you have nothing to worry about this piece.

Hope others can tell you more about the other battle entries.

Can you show us the rest? Specially wounds, awards and the personal details from him.

Thanks and congratulations for such nice piece.

Thanks Andor, can you post page 47 to see the other awards he received?

Thanks a lot, a very nice piece you have for an officer in a well known Panzer Division in the final battles in Hungary.

                        Hello Andor/Aicemen !

You have a very nice Wehrpass here, which points to (IMO) a very general problem :
Why is almost nobody interested in a Wehrpass ?! 100+ views and no response ... (Except Angel of course.)
This is something I really do not understand. I am almost sure, if you would have presented
a Soldbuch of the very same soldier, you would have gotten at least 5-10 responses/likes, whatever ...,
                        maybe much, much more ...

                        Regarding your questions :
In addition to what Angel wrote regarding the battle calendar entries for 23. Pz.Div., I also
checked the entries regarding s.Art.Abt. 422 with a book from Uwe Kleinert on these type of units.
They all match perfectly (and will be almost impossible to fake)! No need for any worries.

                        s.Art.Abt. 422 was equipped with s.FH.18 (3 batteries/each with 4 guns).
In Greece it served with XXXIX. Geb.Korps, in Russia mainly with XXXXVII. A.K. (Panzergruppe 2) in 1941/42.
Before Operation Zitadelle/Kursk, the unit was slightly reorganized into 3 batteries, 3 guns/each,
where the first battery was equipped with 10cm canons and served under XXIII. A.K. (9.Armee), North wing.

In August 1943 he was sent to his replacement unit (maybe he was wounded at Kursk?!).
In February 1944, he was sent to Denmark for the formation of Art.Rgt 20 (L), which was part of
                        20. Luftwaffen-Felddivision, another very interesting unit. With this unit he saw service in Italy,
                        http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...nenL/20FDL.htm
                        http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...iv/20LSD-R.htm
before he was finally transferred to 23. Pz.Div. for the fightings on the southern wing in Hungary.

I like this Wehrpass a lot , thanks for showing !

                        Best regards,

                        Archi

                          It all looks really nice.

But I can not believe that some fool sat on a desk and made all those entries in 1945 on May 8 while the eastern front collapsed around him. In Austria they rushed to the Americans at Enns river to become POWs and for shure they burned all there stuff last days. For me no way.

Trust me us, they do it and notably this division almost all and also after May 8th, search the forum and the net and you will find a lot of examples from unquestionable books with entries done at the end of the war and after the war, even Soldbuchs open-end after May 8th with all the information.

                            Cheers

                            Angel

I might be missing something, what do you mean with May 1945 entries?
This looks like a 1942/1943 Zweitschrift Wehrpass to me.
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.
