Thank you Archi for your Imput on this Thread. Until mid-1941, all officer-Candidates from Krampnitz have the mention "Kavallerie-Schule-Lehrstab" in their Soldbücher or Wehrpässe. THis "Lehrstab" is a general denomination, which was divided into 3 sub-Sections : Reitereinheiten - Radfahreinheiten - Aufklärungseinheiten. So, sure he was there as "O.A." and not part of the training Personal. Note he went back to Krampnitz later (from 1.3 to 3.4.43), as confirmed by the interesting Stamp on Page 21 "Ausbildungslehrgänge der Schule für schnelle Truppen Krampnitz - Lehrgang zur Techn., takt. und schiesstechnische Ausbildung von Kompanieführer"". So, one month there to improve his Knowledge in those three Matters to improve his know-how as Company Commander on the Front. I have always being impressed how the german throughout the War (and until the end) were paying attention to a good Formation for their front-Officers, one more time shown in the Example here.

        thank you for sharing!

Btw it is strange that the wehrpass picture is made with all the awards on uniform. Replacement picture maybe?

Hi Yubari ! The whole WP is a Zweitschrift (replacement Booklet) from 17.2.43 (see page 1), so no wonder the Pic is in Uniform wearing his Awards !

HI Naxos ! Great Pic, even if taken leter, tks for sharing ! Yours is probably from "10.O.A.L." (10.Offizier-Anwärter-Lehrgang) which took Place in Autumn 1942. I have also a Grouping from a Guy - Hans-Georg ENCKHAUSEN who was in the 10th...), with a better Pic I could try to recognize him... Do you have Names captioned on the back ?

I want to thank Naxos here... As he knew "Krampnitz" is one of my beloved Research Thematic, he proposed to send me that original Pic for free. Very uncommon Behaviour that I want to report on the Thread her, even if its hurts his Modesty.... A real Gentleman. Hut ab zum Gebet !

Happy for you and well done Naxos.

                      Hello !

There is a lot of very interesting additional information coming up within this thread.
Also, interesting addition and nice help from naxos !

I can only add some further info, but it might be interesting to others as well :
I found a listing of the several O.A. courses, that took place at Krampnitz.
1.) It is in exact accordance what Lionel wrote, that Uffz. (R.O.A) Margerie was indeed a member
of the 1. O.A.-Lehrgang at Krampnitz. (and due to the Wehrpass, it is clear that this course took place
                      from 23.8.-17.10.1939)

2.) If the listing is correct, the photo posted by naxos should refer to the 11. O.A.-Lehrgang. However,
I think this listing might be only a rough estimate (it says: date : Anhalt) and perhaps it can be adjusted
by more exact informations from personal IDs/documents, just as the WP shown in the beginning.

                      Best regards,

                      Archi

according to Leutnant Apitz Wehrpass Abschrift, the O.A. Lehrgang at Krampnitz went from October 11, - to December 10, 1942

Thank you Guys for your imput on that Thread... WOW ! The document posted by Archi is unvaluable for me.... The Guy from NAXOS was from the 11.O.A.L., not the 10th, perfectly correct ! Again, I must add here that Archi (Uwe for it's Friends :-) sent me per Email much more Material that I will read in peace in the coming holydays... The "School's Probematic" (how it exactly worked, how it was organised) is not easy to understand at first Sight, but is representative for the fantastiv Organisation of the German Army during WW2, and the Quality of the basic Officers - which was always recognized by their Opponents - is also a Reason why the War lasted 2,5 Years after the Disaster of Stalingrad...

Here are Entries from an O.A. belonging to 11.O.A.L. Krampnitz, wearing the awesome Name of Robert-Allan Stevenson.... I picked up these Scans here on the Forum, hope the Owner will not be offended I show them here (he can also contact me for selling me this, that would avoid all "copyright" Problems ;-). The scans are unfortunately too bad to figure the Signature from Hptm u. Insp.Chef out...

Here is a great Pic from my Collection. It is captioned on the back "Besichtigung Potsdam 8.10.1942". Note first at this quite "early" date, already 2 KC Holders and 4 german Cross in Gold Holders, almost all others wearing EK.1. The only Officer I identified with certitude is the one, laughing, surrounded in red on the left. He is Walter BETTAG, at this time Inspektionschef from 3rd Inspektion at Krampnitz. The other surrounded in red could be Ewald von STÜNZNER (Pz.Abt.103). There are good Chances that these gentlemen are the Staff from Krampnitz.... This Feeling is reinforced by the 2 Officiers on the far right, on wearing the "Schwedter Eagle" and the other the Skull of the "Leibhusaren", then both Cavalry-Guys !! But to be honest, that's quite a lot... Perhaps joining other Officers from Zossen, Döberitz or KS Potsdam for visiting the Potsdamer Castle together ??

One is sure : Once received, I will magnify the Pic from NAXOS and try to identify the 2 officers on the front among those in the Castle... Probably a boring Hobby for many Guys here, but always amazing when you try to get light in difficult Matters !
