Hi all,
I have a Luftwaffe Erkennungsmarke which I think is one that belonged to a member of StG. 77, and was found by a fossicker in the old German POW Camp here in Victoria, at Murchison, the disc is marked:
69058 / 30
The ' 30 ' is below the MOB number, and would be his personal ID, but would love to find out more details on the ' 69058 ' if possible.
Most of the POW's at the camp (Camp 13) were from the early war period, and mostly Battle of Britain or from north Africa, (with the exception of the survivors from the HK Kormoran), so if the disc is indeed from StG. 77 then the original owner would have probably been taken as a POW during the battle of Britain.
Thanks for looking,
Regards
Bob
