If it was another "normal" wound, he wouldn't get a Silver WB for his 2nd wound (April 1945).

          Hello !

From what you posted (and is very hard to read) :
          - drafted in ~Dec. 1939 to Inf.Rgt. 174 (81. ID).
With this unit he was trained and went into battle against France in spring 1940.
          http://lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Glie...nen/81ID-R.htm

~ Oct. 1940 transferred to Etra Südost, which could be for : Eisanbahn-Transportabteilung(??) Südost
(from the promotion entry p. 3)
          - At some time he was transferred to Wermachttransportleitung Südost (FPN 40410), these two
seem to be connected somehow :
          http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...iederung-R.htm

Transferred again to Inf.Rgt 591 of 323. ID (perhaps in April 1942 ?!).
          http://lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Glie...onen/323ID.htm

In Sept. 1942 he fell ill with malaria and was later transferred to a Genesenden-Kp.
What happened then is to hard to read/to understand for me, but I am sure it can be solved by the colleagues.
(BTW, on 1.9.44, he was with Wehrkreisunterführerlehrgang V at Münsingen (p. 14), which is interesting.)

So far, I do not see any connection to 553. VGD (which would be interesting for me).
Perhaps it would help if you post p. 17 of the Soldbuch ?!

Hope that helps a bit and best regards,

          Archi

Cannot help you for this one but note that the little paper glued on cover, under the ID photo, is not common, and interesting.
