A Couple of Quick WP Entry Questions

Guys - I have a couple simple questions on things I cannot read...

What is the ailment listed (on page 34) from May 24 - June 7 and what is the significance or relevance of the dates right below? Do they reference some kind of recovery or leave period?

What does it say below the entry here? It shows positional warfare at X with AGC. What is the writing right below it?

Just following up on this. The date range of June 29 - October 7... is that a different wound period and incident? Unfortunately it does not give a year - could it be a continuation of the motorcycle accident or a different wound at a different time? He was awarded a a WBiB on June 22, 1942, but I'm guessing this is not related? He did see heavy action that month (June) according to his unit history.

                  Brian,

it reads "und 29.6 - 7.10" - "Herserange" so it is a continuation to the above year "1940" most likely related to the motorcycle accident (convalescence).

Herserange is a border town in France to Luxembourg - probably the place of the accident.

The 34. Infanteriedivision operated in that region in May 1940.

"Mit Beginn des Westfeldzuges am 10. Mai 1940 überschritt die Division bei Wormeldingen die Our und besetzte die Stadt Luxemburg. Dann drehte die Division über Longwy-Dudelingen ab und blieb hier als Flankenschutz vor der Maginotlinie liegen."

                  .
