I thought it was the same but I was corrected by a few people some years ago....to be honest I have never seen anything in writing regarding Wehrmacht class 2 and 3 licenses except for fully tracked, half track etc...as I have orders regarding these......
However even today in Germany class 2 is goods vehicle and 3 is car, depending on weight!!!

As I said Ian, I thought this originally also and I read it somewhere in a reference book, however it would appear to be incorrect.
The above image can be misleading in areas also as that is the new EU License, however for 7½ ton vehilces (old HGV 3) or old Klasse 2, if you passed your test prior to 1997 you can actually drive these on a car license!!! After a conversion/assessment of course!
Didn't mean to jump down your throat but I will have a chat with Gary later....
