    Archi, thanks for your efforts.

Day 16 is for January 4th, 1.943 and day 17 is for February 4th, 1.943.

The promotion entry on page 3 dated April 1st, 1.943 is approved by Stab I./260.

He was dismissed from the Wehrmacht on April 1st,1.945 by an Oberstabartz und Chefarzt on Reserve Lazarett Oberstdorf.

From another group of the 212 Infantry Division in my collection a letter sent to the hospital requesting the entry on a Soldbuch of the medal, the promotion and the change in the pay level.

I think this is what also happen here, the unit request the hospital the update of the Soldbuch and due the late war no stamp or signature.

        Hello Angel !

Here is some additional information on CC entries # 16 and 17, which might be of interest :
The divisional history of 113. ID. (by Scherzer) gives the following, regarding the
        two dates/places of interest, for CC-days #16 and #17 :

        a) for #16 it is clear that there are only two possibilities :
a1) either he was still in the Kessel (cauldron)
        a2) he was already outside

for case a1) the div. history mentions, that around 4.01.1943, 113. ID was fighting
still at the northern rim of the cauldron (N of Rossoschka, between 76. ID(left) and 60. ID(mot)(right)),
while Rgt. 260 had been sent to the western rim and has been destroyed there at that time
        (that area was held by 3. and 29. Pz.Gren.Div. and 24. Pz.Div.).
So this would be the area to search, but I could not find any place with a name close to Sslawiansk there.

for case a2) too many places are possible. E.g., he could have been on leave in Nov., and then be collected
near Schachty by Sich.Div. 403 (see first part of att. #2). (and then sent as reinforcement anywhere).
        ----------

For #17, the info is more conclusive (part 2 & 3 att. #1):
The history says, that Drushkowka (70km N of Stalino (=Donezk today)), was the collecting point
for returning soldiers of 113. ID.
On 4.2.43, this place was under attack of Red Army forces, and the remnants of 113. ID (named
as "Gruppe Fleischhauer") had to retreat.
So this is an exact match of of date and place.
I attach a Lage Ost map from 4.2.43, with Druschkowka S of Slawjansk and Kramatorskaja.

Hope this helps a little bit, to resolve some questions !

        Best regards,

        Archi

          Thanks Archi,

With all info I start thinking he was outside the pocket as it will be a little bit tricky to be inside and the next month outside fighting in the same area. I don't think so, maybe he was outside the whole battle, I keep digging.
