        Thank you for the replies. If anyone else owns a KIA Soldbuch/Wehrpass from operation Veritable or Grenade, you may post it here. I could not find another one so far, but I'm sure there are more. It is quite unfortunate that the February/March 1945 offensives near the Rhine are often forgotten, except of course for Operation Varsity and Remagen bridge.

              I was rereading Kurt Vonnegut's slaughterhouse five and in there somewhere is the phrase children's crusade. At my age of 54 this man reminds me of that. Very good research, thank you for the effort.
