I am looking for information about EGON BORGSEN °6th august 1928 who joined the SS-Panzer-Division Leibstandarte-SS Adolf Hitler (( LAH ) in the last week of the war if I look at page 12 of his Wehrpass. What units are mentioned please and is this legit or did someone added this after the war in order to pimp up the Wehrpass?

thx, but there is nothing more to see about his SS past, its is a normal Kriegsmarine Wehrpass issued by the Navy.

Well, for instance, it seems his SS activities started 1 May '45; do the entries prior to that lead up to that date? Or do they stop earlier? Where was he utilized by the KM? For instance, if he was in the Med, it's kind of hard to see him being transferred to the SS in the last week of the war.

More pages certainly can't hurt.

Dear Glaser,

You have all the information concerning the „SS-past“ of Egon Borgsen in your hand.

As you wrote, he was in the RAD from Nov. 20th 1944, so he seems to have left in the end of 1944 or early 1945, he had volunteered for the Kriegsmarine, but this seems to be ignored,

because he was with “2. Feld-Ausb.u.Ers.Kp./SS-Pz.Rgt 1” from …1.1945 until 4.5.1945,then with 8.Kp. SS-Pz.Rgt. 1.

During the rebuilding of the 1st SS-Pz.Div in autumn 1944, there were not enough tanks for the SS-Pz.Rgt. 1, so the unit had to leave behind these companies without weapons, under the staff of the II. Abteilung SS-Pz.Rgt. 1

In the chronicle of the LSSAH, Vol. IV/2, page 372 is stated for April 1945:
… Eine weitere Verstärkung für den infanteristischen Einsatz bildet die II./Pz.Rgt 1, die bis zum 27.3. im Raum Rhaden – Espelkamp verblieben ist, ohne eine Panzerausstattung zu erhalten. Nach Verlegung in den Raum Znaim ist sie jetzt auf dem mot-Marsch, um über St. Pölten zur Division zu stoßen.
Die Abteilung hat die Gliederung eines Panzergrenadierbataillons

So the „2.Ausbildungs-Kp.“ seems to be the mentioned „2. Feld-Ausb.u.Ers.Kp.“ of the SS-Pz.Rgt. 1, without being able to confirm that from documents.

Borgsen seems to be transferred to the 8./SS-Pz.Rgt. 1 on May 5th 1945
