                              The CC-day incident on August 21, 1944

On 21 August, 1944 a German soldier was wounded in an ambush set by the FFI in Ris Orangis.

A group of FFI fighters opened fire on a German vehicle that was passing through Ris-Orangis. The Germans dismounted and engaged the FFI in a firefight. The FFI group was able to disengage and fled without losses. After the firefight the German vehicle continued to take their wounded to a field hospital near Corbeil. Hauptmann Wolf must have been part of this action.

Later the same day a column of Germans, headed by an armored vehicle, pulled up on Route Nationale 7 (the highway to Paris). The Germans entered the town of Ris-Orangis and opened fire on civilians, killing 9 and wounding 18. Also hostages were taken but later released.
