17.1.1944 8 Batterie, Stellungs-Werfer-Regiment 101
10.8.1944 cacelled.

Thanks. The markings are in a helmet so I was trying to get an idea as to where the group was stationed. Just found some good info online. Very much appreciated.

No date so to speak but it does look as though this fieldpost had a short history.

Can't tell you alot I'm afraid....

Schwere Stellungs Werfer Regiment 101 was formed 6.1.1944 as an independent unit in the west (Cherbourg) from the schwere Stellungs-Werfer-Abteilungen 101 (I), 102 (II) and 103 (III); June 1944 destroyed in Cherbourg.

No, that is fantastic information! Simply searching online I was able to find their hq locations as well as info on the division they belonged to and their top commander.
