Happy Christmas all,
My grandfather, Marineartillerieobergefreiter d.R.? Heinrich Halfmann, served in the KM between 12.8.1942 - 8.5.1945.
He was captured on Guernsey.
He was sent to Hull as his first port of call within the UK.
His final camp was camp167 in Leicestershire.
Would anyone happen to own any of his original documents that they would be willing to share with me?
I've copies of his birth certificate to hand to prove I'm related.
He never spoke about his service and passed away when I was 9.
His father served in Ww1 and WW2 and won the EK2 in both ( I remeber seeing an old BW photo of him on a motorbike with his officers tunic and helmet. He joined as an OR in the LW and then transferred to the Heer).
Any help or ideas where I may find some id appreciate.
Regards
Jon
