    Hi Guillaume,

NSKK stands for Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps. It started out as part of the SA, but in 1934 it became a part of the NSDAP directly and was merged wit the Motor-SA. Before and during the war they were involved in transport for the Organisation Todt, for the Luftwaffe and Heer. Your disc is apparently from one of the Luftwaffe-serving units created in 1941. An example of a project they were involved with is the construction of the Westwall before the war.

          NSKK disc

          Dear Guillaume,

IMO did your disc belong to a driver that belonged to the NSKK. I have also two similar discs that look the same however they are additionally stamped: 'Gr. Ausl." (standing for Gruppe Ausland i.e. being a foreigner).

These discs were handed out to the foreign volunteer NSKK drivers of the NSKK. I like this specific part of the NSKK very much and have collected this over the years. I know that some years ago quite a lot of these discs were found in the Halbe pocket in Germany and that they were on the market some time ago. They were not very expensive and IMO very under estimated!

Hope this has helped you bit further...

          Best regards,

Maybe, maybe not- I notice that both of your discs, Coco, are marked 'KRAFT F' which, of course, stands for Kraftfahrer- suggesting that those who were actually drivers had this fact indicated on their discs; since Guillaume's disc doesn't have this marking, there's really no reason to assume it belonged to a driver. Certainly there's also no reason to assume that all drivers had this marking on their discs, but truly all that we know for sure is that whomever he was, he was in the unit (NSKK Brigade 1) that worked for the Luftwaffe.
