Wehrpass

Offered to me for sale, a good condition Wehrpass of a man born in 1898 and listed as serving in the Bau and Bau Reserve Batallions.

Most dates appear to be late 1940 although there is a February 1944 stamp. Has nice riveted photo. Certainly more entries than many older guy Wehrpasses – all entries are Third Reich. 17 pages with some form of entry or stamp. Nice condition – all pages bound nicely.

One bummer though, at some stage someone tried to "wipe out" the swastika on the front covers eagle Has lots of traces of byro remaining but swastika is visible.

Asking price is : US $ 42.00

The price is there or there abouts for an item, it depends how desperate you are for a wehrpass, my recommendation would be to save your money and get a better one. They are often for sale on the estand. Do you have any scans just in case we have missed anything in it?

That price seems fine to me for a WP with standard entries, although price is dependent on awards, units etc. I would suggest that a well-filled WWII wehrpass is worth the wait!

If the swasticas have been blacked out it might devalue the WP a bit.

I would personally wait for something else to come up. Here is what I make of the entries:

Battle Entries: (Hard to make out from the photos)
Fieldwork in Poland and ? Battle at Bromberg (?)
In the West
Battle ? Reims
Pursuit Battle over the ..... to Loire.
Securing of the demarcation line.

Entry on page 46 states he was put in Landwehr II (Untrained 35-45 yrs)
Entry on page 47 states that he got RM 50 upon his discharge.

I thought being a good filled Wehrpass with some battle entries that it would be a good buy.
The other Wehrpass has less entries.
