Dear Members,
maybe it is not a very interesting story, but I would like to share with you my experiences in connection with an SS Hunyadi Soldbuch, which I recently bought by weitze.net
I allways wanted to have a Hunyadi SS Soldbuch, and about 2-3 weeks ago I found on Weitzes page two Soldbücher from the Hungarian SS Hunyadi division. So I decided to buy one of them. The Solbuch of Oberscharführer József Varga. Everything went perfectly, I sent the money and within 3-4 days I received the Soldbuch. BUT something was very strange with this book, and I realised, it is the photo. On the scan pictures (on the website) I didn't see, that the photo is not original to the Soldbuch. There were no stampings on the photo, just besides the photo and behind the photo there were the thre traces of the original photo, which was just torn out (maybe during or after the war...). And there was a last strange thing with the photo. According to the Soldbuch József Varga was in a rank of Oberscharführer, but on the photo there was a man in the rank of SS-Mann.
So I decided to contact immediately with Weitze and sent the Solbuch on the same day back. I have to say, that everythin went perfectly, and I got my money back on the next day, when the Solbuch arrived back to Weitze.
Today I wisited again his homepage, just to see, what kind of new items he has. And there was the Soldbuch of József Varga again, but this time without the photo...and I just couldn't unterstand, why did they do this to the book...Ok, the photo was not original to the book, but it was an original SS portrait/Ausweiss photo, and they just torn it out of the book??!! Do professional collectors/sellers so like he/they did?
unfortunately I didn't saved/downloaded the photos of the original post, but here is the new post of the book, without the photo.

maybe some of you had seen the original post/listing also...
I apologize for my thread, but I was just shocked, that this can happen nowadays with an original SS Soldbuch and an original photo.
Regards
Gabe
