WWI sniper Militärpass

Hello. Has someone ever seen a sniper entry inside a WWI Militärpass?
Today I received a very interesting document which has the following entry:

"Bis 13.12.17 zum Scharfschützen-Kursus kommandiert" (ordered to sniper-training until 13.12.17).

I didn't know that they already had offically trained snipers in WWI!

Why do you think that doesn´t mean "Scharfschützen Kursus" ... with sniper rifles?

There where Sniper trainings in WW1... I think it means what there is written..
shooting with scope with a rifle...

of course it means "what is written" - However, "Scharfschützen Kursus" does not necessarily mean, as you say, "with sniper rifles". That is not written.

For to say this was training was for a sniper with a sniper rifle we would need supporting evidence. Perhaps the Regimental history or some other source could confirm this.

Besides "Scharfschützen Kursus" for machine-gunners there were "Scharfschützen" training for infantry men with regular issued rifles.

The picture comes out of an austrian KuK estate from an austria KuK soldier. germany and austria did a lot together in WW1..
