Just spent 20 minutes trying to find out who "Hauptmann Tschimpke" is on page 14 but not had any luck so far.

Could it be Alfred Tschimpke - he was Oberleutnant in 1940 and author of

"Die Gespenster-Division - Mit der Panzerwaffe durch Belgien und Frankreich"
