Luftwaffen Ballonführerschein - Lw Balooning License

I hope this is the right WAF section. I'm researching the career of a WW II Artillery officer. Among his papers was this document. A brief online research came up with nothing, except the fact, that a typical Luftwaffen-Flugzeugführerschein looks similar.
This Ballonführerschein (No. 12) was delivered in 1943. I know that balloons were in use by Artillery Forward Observers and Target Acquisition units during the war. Any further informations are kindly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

That's interesting, I have never seen one before!! With the red cover it is more like the glider pilots license.

Not sure if I have any info on them anywhere though....will have a dig around.

    What unit authorised the license?

Thanks guys for your feedback! @Ian: The license was authorised by "Oberkommando des Heeres - Artillerie-Abteilung" (seals).

              ..

Nice piece, likewise I've never seen one of those either.

Interesting that it is in orange similar to the glider schein.
