Reichsheer erkennungsmarke

Hello ,

I have a Reichsheer tab and have a question about it. The german army was super small at the time, did they allot a certain group of serial numbers to a specific Wehrkreiss? Can you identify where this tag was issued or for what unit? Thank you.

The Deutsches Dienstelle WaSt in Berlin may be able to trace them, but of course non family enquiries are not accepted. Although numbered there does not appear to be any trace of where they were issued, or even if this type was at all. Some stocks of Reichsheer tags were reused, I have examples found in my own collection.

Hi Fred,
To echo Simon's comment, I have several dogtags which were Reichsheer tags reused for Wehrmacht use, one of them even to a RK winner from JR69.

I have this post also in the Weimar area. Forum member pauke directed me to the Reference book "DEUTSCHES REICHSHEER". It said that the numbers were delegated to the Army District Commands. At one time there was a list.
