Soldbuch Help Please

Hi All
I am looking for some help with a soldbuch/ document group I recently purchased.
The soldbuch appears to show that the guy was enlisted into STAMM.KP.GREN.ERS.BTL 365 as a gerfreiter on the 29 Jan 1944 then promoted to obergerfreiter on the 1 July 1944. He was inoculated (which from my research is always close to the date enlisted???) on 18 feb 1944.
my problem is, that the same same guy, according to the document group, and the soldbuch awards page, show he was awarded the war merit cross with swords on the 20 April 1943. and the general assault badge on 24 September 1942.he also was awarded a wound badge in Black 4 October 1944.
I even have a separate picture of him wearing his awards!!! It appears to me he won his awards before he joined the army. please help I'm very confused.

Hope someone out there can explain this to me.

He wouldn't join the Army as a Gefreiter so he has previous Military service....either this is a replacement Soldbuch as the other was full, lost or damaged......or he was discharged and recalled.......I would expect it's a replacement.

Does it say Zweitschrift or Ersatzausfertigung on he top of page 1?

Also there should be a date on page 18 against Stellen/Wehrsoldgruppe 15.....does tis date also precede the issue date of the Soldbuch?

It doesn't say Zweitschrift or Ersatzausfertigung on the top of page 1.
However it does have a 1943 date on page 18. I guess it's a replacement one then. I'm very new to collecting, and as you can probably gather,I have a lot to learn from you guys. Thanks again.
