Little set of 384 ID Stalingrad-kampfer

    Hello my friends..

Yes, I know, that is not "heavy" set. And that's not a "heavy" wehrpass..but I like it very much.

As I understood it's a duplicate Wehrpass, and it has very few records. Many pages are empty..all of most interesting pages are empty))

And I'm confused on this page.

He was in Werger Ersatz und Ausbildungs Abteilung in Verden till 22.12.42? But he was wounded 22.12.42..I don't understand..

Was he entitled to an EK I? Thats not a correct entry and it looks like it was entered by an old hand (shakey!)
Probably awarded it himself......or it was missed out and he entered it......however that we may never know!!!

            So...the entry is wrong!!

I don't know much about Herbert Pauli.
I just know that he was seriously wounded in Stalingrad and when he was 21 years old, he lost his leg.

But he was a luckely guy and he left Stalingrad pocket at the end of december.

Here is a Herbert Pauli with his comrades at the end of 80's. (I have no original of this photos..last owner sent me the scans).

Possible his move to the front saw him wounded on the last day of his official assignment to the WERFER E & AA.

Also, you're going to have some difficulties convincing people that EK1 entry is good. It definitely doesn't look original.

Yes, I see that entry is different from others..but it seems (by condition) that he was wearing only EKI after war)))

I never focused on this entry..

So, it's a fake? He never was awarded by EKI??

So he received the EKII and EKI after the loss of his leg?
The EKII entry is good, but the EKI is added later. Probably never now who did it.
I find it an interesting set, esepcially with the pictures of the veteran himself, very nice.

The dates and unit are okay!

There is nothing wrong with the dates and unit. The clerk made a mistake, and then he notice it and tried to correct it by adding the (1.) & (2.) outside the box on the left.

The two sets of dates stay in the same place, just flip the units.

The Wehrpaß is probably a Zweitschrift, as it is filed out by one hand, which would also make sense for the unit entries to have the mistake mentioned by Russ. The EK 1 is not correct, as the book was closed out by the Wehrmeldeamt and the other awards are made by the same ink as the "F.D.R." The first Wehrpaß could have been lost in Stalingrad, like most others from the 6th Army.
