    Few questions

    Hello,

I have a few questions about the entries in this Soldbuch.

    1. What's the second award?

    2. Does the Panzer Grenadier Lehr Bataillon have something in comon with Panzer Lehr Division?

    Thanks for the anwsers.

    All the best

Looks like "V.A. in Schwarz" (Wound Badge in Black) to me.

        Question 2.

        Not exactly.
There was a Lehr unit for every branch; Artillerie-Lehr, Grenadier-Lehr, Panzergrenadier-Lehr, Aufklärung-Lehr.. etc. These have nothing to do with the Panzer-Lehr-Division.
But, when the Panzer-Lehr-Division was made, they used allot of soldiers from the above mentioned Lehr units.

Are there any units written on page 17 in your soldbuch?
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

              Pz. Gren. Lehr

The story of the Infanterie Lehr Regt. has plenty of twists and turns and from it came Inf. Lehr Regt. 900 (mot) and various units. When the Pz. Lehr Div. was formed the two infantry regiments that were part of it were given the numbers Pz. Gren. Lehr Regt. 901 and 902. A few 901ers I knew had been in earlier Inf. Lehr units and the 902ers were not so much of a tradition bearer of the earlier units.
