Hello to all, I recently discovered a German aluminum Erkennungsmarke at a former Fallschirmjager-Regiment 13 position during the Battle of the Bulge in January 1945. It was found in a small stream a few yards away from the former Fallsch.Jg.Rgt.13 first aid station. The markings on the EKN are "Lw. Bau Komp" on the top, "Nr.512" below this, and "11/XII" just left of the "Nr.512". Unfortunately, I cannot post pictures here. Maybe I can send it to someone who can post it? I would like to know if anyone has information about this dogtag. What I know is this:
- It belonged to a member of the 5th Fallschirmjager-Division (100% sure)
- Almost surely Fallschirmjager-Regiment 13 (found at the Regiment's aid station, which was also the Regiment CP). BUT elements of the 5th Fallschirmjager Mortar Battalion and the 5th Fallschirmjager Sanitats Kompanie were here between January 2 and January 11, 1945.
Any help is appreciated,
Many thanks,
Alex
