Earliest photo in Soldbuch ? (Intel related ?)

    Hello gentlemen,

here is an interesting find I have made in one of my Soldbuch :

The stamp on the right reads "Schirmbild - 21 Sept. 1942"... So really before the official orders to attach pictures.

My opinion is that a photo was attached vey early due to the fact that this soldier (from Belgian origin, and drafted in the Wehrmacht early 1941) was assigned in April 1942 to the "Chef der Heeres Rüstung und Befehlshaber des Ersatzheeres":

Any ideas on the work of his units ?

    Best regards !

Schirmbild means X-ray picture rather than portrait photo.....Lichtbild

      Oh right, thank you.

It seems furthermore that the stamp matches with its last unit (from April 1943, Nachrichten Feldaufklärung Kompanie 624, FpNr 06531).

So I am not sure how to understand this stamp. Why here and not on the medical pages ?

Klauklau could you show us page 17 ?

On page 4 left side the is written "s.(iehe) Seite 17" - see page 17. It could be helpful to see this page.

They seemed to post mainly on the glasses prescription pages (10 & 11), however also on the hospitalisation pages (12 & 13), security check/valuables whilst in hospital pages (14 & 15) and as you know....occasionally page 1!

Many thanks for this explanation and for the pic of the "Schirmbild" stamp !

Gerdan, here is the p.17 with the lasts affectations :
Another "strange" unit attached to the Chef der Heeres Rüstung und Befehlshaber des Ersatzheeres", then his last unit (from April 1943), Fernaufklärungskompanie 624.

Ian, I got no more precision on that medical page. Only the result of his medical visit at the Wachbataillon "Großdeutschland" : he was kv and Tropendienstfähig (as his last unit is based in Montpellier, it seems that this "qualification" was necessary.

              Hello !

Sorry for the little "up" !

Do you know where his units were in the organigram of the Chef h.Rüst. u. BdE ?
              (Talking about these 3 :
              2./Nachrichten Aufklärung Abteilung
              2./Nachrichten Betr(iebs ?) Abteilung
4./ Nachrchten Betr. Abteilung (Auswerter Kompanie)
