    Help with Feldpost Number

Hi guys, i am researching this Feldpost Nummer 29369.

I am trying to find if this unit participated in the African campaign.

All i could find from google was this:

    29369
    (Mobilmachung-1.1.1940) Kreuzer "Blucher"
    (28.4.1940-14.9.1940) gestrichen
    (15.2.1942-30.7.1942) Fla-Kompanie (2 cm Flakvierling) 501
    (10.2.1943-23.8.1943) Fla-Kompanie 501, dann Stab u. 1.-3.
    Kompanie Fla-Bataillon 501.

Then i researched the above kompanie and bataillon in Lexikon Der Wehrmacht but it doesn't say anything other that it was stationed in Italy on March 1942.

    Does anyone know more?

    Thanks in advance
    Chris

this unit was used on Italien freight ships to protect them from allied air attacks when shipping between Italy and Africa.
So I would call them supporters of the DAK.

I have a Wehrpaß to a member of that unit and it simply says:

26.9.41-16.1.43 Anti-aircraft defence on transport ships in the Mediterranean.

        In my research I have:

        Fla Kompanie ( 2 cm Flakvierling) 501
Formed 15.3.1942 and consisted of 7 Fla Zügen of 2 cm Flakvierling, 5 from Sonderstab Neapel of OKW/Heimatstab abroad formed 20.9.1941; Renamed 16.3.1943 Fla Btl. 501 in Italy with 3 Kpn.
Under: Army troops: Italy (Naples, Abruzzen, Liguria)
        Replacements: 103 Wahn, WK VI

If you check the Vermisstenbildliste you can see varying places where members of the unit were lost:

Mediterranean, at sea, Tunisia, Naples, Biserta, Bengasi, Africa, Catania.

Of course wherever the ship was destined.
