    Hey Doug,

Firstly, a happy new year to you!

Secondly, I would also like to know what gold cord is, and what it was awarded for. I am interested as my Great Uncle received the same award during WWI - I only know about it from his letters, but unfortunely not what it is etc.

Could you tell us more about this particular book?

Doesn't the gold entry mean the gold cording that went around the driver's patch on the sleeve?
The red entry does say Führergeschenk.

The LW driver's badge was a LW eagle superimposed over the grille of a vehicle. The twisted gold cord went around the badge.
