    WP on E-stand all good?

    Hello gentlemen,

I am interested in this WP but before buying I would like to know if all is good? I am not experienced enough in this myself. Some things I noticed, what I haven't seen before in a WP is on page 1 it looks like small pieces of paper were added at the place of the metal rings. It also looks on page 2 that a second photo was placed on top of a first photo. Was this something common? And I also miss stamps/signatures at promotions and decorations. In all my WP these are signed by a commanding officer. Was it something that was not always done (due to whatever reason)?

What makes this one interesting the most to me is the mentioning of Roermond on May 10 1940 which is my hometown.

    Thanks for any help!

    Best regards,
    Marcel

There is a Nockelmann listed in the 01 Mai 1943 DAL with the rank of Hauptmann (39) and as having served with Nachr.Abt 51 prior to WW-2. I have a few WP where the promotion entries haven't been stamped or signed - it happened.

As a seller of this WP I am quite sure that it hasn't been pimped in any way, except that Nockelmann upgraded his uniform picture from private to officer. I have seen this done before and I own few WP and SB that have this same feature. Although I have never seen it done before so carefully like here. They even lined the new stamps with the old ones...

Additionally, I did a quick google search and found this: http://www.balsi.de/Weltkrieg/Einhei...PzK-NA-Abt.htm and there you can find under "Angehörige" Nockelmann's name... If you click it you will find this: http://soldaten.balsi.de/index.php?action=show&id=14186

So Nockelman is listed as Hauptmannin the 01 Mai 1943 DAL and he was awarded KVK1.

Also compare the handwriting between EK2 entry and his Poland campaign entries.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. As Risto has said, the photo has been updated to show him as an officer but it was period done and the stamps used match the issuing authority.

Thanks gentlemen for opinions. What about the stamp on the photo? It's not a nice round stamp as one would expect but looks more like a crude attempt to make a stamp. Only noticed this just now. Perhaps it happened more often? In the field perhaps? Have to admit I am not experienced enough with these.

And one more question: He was promoted to Oberleutnant.

According to the link: Beförderungen am 01.09.1943 zum Oberleutnant and according to the WP it mentiones the date 01.08.1940 while his promotion to Hauptman is on 01.04.1943. How is that possible? Perhaps I just miss logical explanations here?!

Well it is what it is... I doubt that Wehrbezirkskommando Iserlohn was doing this in the field and that stamp looks all right to me, there is nothing crude in that eagle or text for sure.

Also notice that the old foto and old stamps are still there so this really isn't one of those that had the missing picture replaced in recent times, since it actually has two pictures.

About his promotion to Hauptmann, the web site has wrong date in it. They obviously didn't have his Wehrpass in hand.

Wehrbezirkkommando stamps were not kept in the filed. The Wehrpass had to have been sent back to the Wehrbezirk to have this done.
