Bizarre....the only reason I recognised it straight away was because I read a thread about it only yesterday by Oriano!!!

      It is Hafen-Kampf-Kompanie Olbia

      Here is his thread.... http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=804497

Like me, I read the thread and remember somewhere I have read Olbia so I check my collection and find where.

Now one more piece for the puzzle.

        Thanks Ian

Oriano I mean I have more clues to research the group, after the summer I want to take some time to research a couple of groups I have and this is one.

He was a Panzerjäger, a Grenadier and back to hunt tanks, in the meantime he served in Sardinia as a port security member, if I understand correctly this unit purpose.

Can you provide me with detail about this unit?

            Thanks a lot

the Hafen-Kampf-Kompanie Olbia is a very difficult unit, and if there was not this Wehrpass I never thought or knew that it was passed in the Argentario .... For I know the Hafen-Kampf-Kompanie were in charge the security and work organization in strategic ports near the front ... in Olbia arrives in May in the wake of the 90 Pz. Gren. Div .... then he retires with this in September 1943 and it moves in Porto Santo Stefano .... .
another thing about the Hafen-Kampf-Kompanie Olbia that they were composed also with Italian soldiers or laborers ... and as another hint is that the only "tanker" who were in Sardinia from May to september 1943 were the soldiers of the 90 Pz Gren. Div...

.. I'm looking for yet, and I am continuing to try and if I find something I inform you immediatelly...

              ciao Oriano

Thanks a lot when I have time I also will try to look for more info on this soldier career and see what we can find.

This is the most beautiful part of this hobby, collaboration between collectors and find new info.

Thanks again Oriano, I always enjoy your presentations and admire your researches.
