    Feldpost numbers for: 268 I.D. and 468 Inf. Rgt.

    Anyone, (prob. Ian) know the feldpost numbers for the:

    268 Inf. Div. (ca. 1940)
    486 Inf. Erz. Rgt. (ca. 1940)
    468 Inf. Rgt. (ca. 1941)

    Someone may know them but just for information, if you're using Kannapin to look up FP numbers then you can't really do it this way. Well you could, but it means going throw 10s of thousands of numbers individually because the volumes are sorted by number rather than by unit.


    There's a thought. Kannapin on CD with the possibility to search by number or unit, now that would be useful.
    Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

      I know, but I had to ask. ...and tell me about it. I would be happy with any feldpost number for these units. At least then I have a reference point to work off. So really any feldpost number would help at this point. I have it a dead end with lexikon der wehrmacht etc. Some one will know.

                2. Kompanie Infanterie-Ersatz Bataillon 468. - Replacement unit for Wehrkreis (WK) VII, like 268. ID and others. Staioned at Füssen/Allgäu.


                I think the feldpost number may be 09286 C. But am not positive at all.

                  Yes that is correct:

                  09286 - Stab u. 1.-4. Kompanie Reserve-Infanterie-Bataillon 468

                  A - Stab I. Btl.
                  B - 1 Kp.
                  C - 2 Kp.
                  D - 3 Kp.
                  E - 4 Kp.
