Any documents for 268 Inf. Div. or 468 Inf. Rgt.?

I am looking for any info on the 268 Inf. Div. or 468 Inf. Rgt. as I have been studying the history of the 352 it has lead me to this division and regiment. Any photos showing entries by these units especially with dates would be greatly appreciated. I don't care if it comes from a Wehrpass, Soldbuch, or other document. (I have not exhausted the search for info on the 321 I.D. or the 589 I.R. at this time either.)

    Thanks in advance,

    Brent

    I've got 4 to 268 ID: http://www.wehrpass.com/wehrpass.asp...iedivision_268

and one to 321. ID (IR 589):

    http://www.wehrpass.com/wehrpass.asp...e=1&criteria=0

Unfortunatley the sites still only in working mode so the links to the individuals of 268 ID don't work...but the 321 ID one does. If you click the 'Selected Scans' link on this page you'll see a couple of scans.

    Cheers,
    Gary.

      Hi Brent,

I dont know what your german is like but this site is excellent for information on units.
      http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/

When the page loads, click on "zum lexikon"

When the next page loads, go to "heer" section.

      Then click on "truppenteile,einheiten,gliederungen"

When that page loads, click on "infanterie "

When that page loads, click on "infanterie division"

When that page loads, scroll down untill you find each division listed by their number. Once you find inf div 268,click on that .
The 268th inf div page also contains a link for the 468th inf regt..

      regards keifer

Gary, you are correct that the links do not work for Gef. Fuchs or Obergef. Schuster. Is it possible to see their unit pages (12 & 13) and battle entries on pages (32 & 33) and hospital/wound entries on page (34)? I would greatly appreciate it. I have not seen this website. It is similar to the percy-clare site...any relation?

          Keifer,

Thanks. My german sucks! But I use the lexikon all the time. I go to my books first, lexikon second and then to the forums here when I can't figure out what something is.

It's the replacement for the percy.clara.net one which is one I wrote years ago. I still have a long way to go to finish it and so it isn't live as such and I can't say when it will be. That's why the links don't work.

I don't have the Fuchs one anymore, nor do I have scans. I sold it a few years back to Ian Thomson who also freuqents these forums. I don't know if he still has it. I can do some scans of the other three but it will be after Christmas now I'm afraid.

Fuchs and Schuster served with IR 499, Piendl with IR 468\IR499 and Matheis with IR 468.
