    Receipt for SS Soldbuch Issuance

A friend in Germany gave me this interesting SS document. It's a receipt for the issuance of an SS Soldbuch, which was never filled out. By signing the document, a soldier was certifying that he was issued a Soldbuch and that he was informed, that if it were lost, he was to immediately report it and provide a written statement about the circumstances of how it was lost. Additionally, the soldier was certifying that he was informed about the purpose of the Soldbuch in accordance with a decree of the Reichsführer-SS of 29 January 1943.

    Interesting Barry,

I've got one of those somewhere which is also blank....it came with an Org.Todt Soldbuch which was clearly closed but of course the new Soldbuch is not there, just this document!! Also, not filled in.......not sure if mine refers to 1943 though.

Will dig it out and see if its identical. I presumed it was due to the fact that Org. Todt, Polizei etc. came under SS as of August 1944 and they were issued new Soldbücher.

It's a TeNo Soldbuch not an Org.Todt as I thought........It is pretty much the same document as yours but from 1944. It also states that the documents have been returned to his personal files....Soldbuch (alte Auflage - old edition).

The only entry indicating this is not his last Soldbuch is this one dated 23.8.1944 indicating the inventory was carried over to his SS Soldbuch.
