his ranks. Named to Unteroffizier 01.09.44 and also sent to 3. SS Wachkommando Mittelbau-Dora, with a notice to change his rank into a SS-Rank unusual???

          Hello Mogdala,

Looks okay to me. The Wehrpass is similar to many of the same type that continue to circulate on the market. Most of them have similar entries. Nothing unusual there. The guy was drafted mid-war into the Lw. He was then promoted to Unteroffizier. Notation was made on first day he reported to his XX unit. That the XX unit did not enter eqiuvalent XX rank into Wp is not odd for such late-war transfers.

          Regards

            Hello,

did you recently(in the last 2 weeks) buy that wehrpass?I swear i (and another forum member) handled that wehrpass at a show here in NC a fews ago?? if its not the same wehrpass it has the same SS entries after the man that had previously served in the luftwaffe,my first thoughts were the same,i had doubts about the SS entries, but after looking over it a few times it seemed ok-i dont collect SS so i wasnt interested in buying it however it was an interesting piece so it caught my attention-when ever i see this SS stuff it allways makes me say Hmm.....especially when it makes a $50 wehrpass into a $300 wehrpass with a few handwritten (and 1 inkstamped)SS entry-you should definatley get some more opinions from collectors of SS soldbuchs/wehrpass

Christian, I also have a "Frey", first I thought they were brothers, the fathers name looked the same , and the father of my Frey died in 1920, yours in 1919 . But on the other hand, the mothers name is wrong!
                What awards did he have?
                Kind regards,
                Giel

that is interesting, after i posted and thought about it a little more the one that i looked at had a promotion entry from the SS that was on the promotions page with a SS stamp not on a seperate piece of paper, the SS units were written by the same person and the totenkopf stamp was the same,i wonder if someone either found a archive from the same SS unit similar to the one i found recently with 22 wehrpass from the 46 I.D-that is odd that ive seen 2 wehrpass from those SS units in the last 2 weeks-the man who has that wehrpass with those SS units is one of the biggest dealers here in North Carolina Pat Anthony,he was asking $300 for his-is that odd that both men were in the luftwaffe then transferred to that SS prison guard unit?is it entirely made up of ex luftwaffe personel?
