    Jager I.D. Tag?

    2/Ldw.J.R.33
    AB 40

    I understand that his blood type is "AB" and roster # "40", but does anybody have an idea about the unit? "J.R." Jager Regiment? Just a guess. Don't have a clue. Any info/history would be greatly appreciated! Kind of neat that a neck cord is still there, kinda rough and frayed - but still cool. Thanks for your time and consideration.

    Hi Tim, afraid its Ldw IR, the "J" is an I, so its Landwehr Infantry Regiment.

        Hi Tim,

        Here's the unit information:

        Landwehr Infanterie-Regiment 33

        Created on 26.8.1939 in Wehrkreis V, as a part of the 14. Landwehr-Division (Oberreihn); renamed Infanterie-Regiment 326 (198. Infanterie-Division) on 17.1.1940.

        This was one of those less-common Infanterie-Regimenter that actually had a 15. Kompanie (Pionier).
